Imagine Bamboo is Everywhere is our public engagement programme - since 2022 we have taken our creative enquiry out onto the road, working with communities, artists, engineers, local authorities and academics across the UK to explore the uses of bamboo.
Inspired by Imagine Bamboo, partners in Stoke-on-Trent and Romsey, Hampshire are presenting their own bamboo events and projects 2025. Brilliant Bamboo CIC in Stoke-on-Trent has already gathered 200 baby bamboo plants, secured a site for a pop up brownfield Bamboo Parklet, co-commissioned two murals, an artwork bench and produced a series of bamboo masterclasses. Meanwhile, Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in Romsey, who generously donated bamboo culms for 2024 Imagine Bamboo projects and Nofit State's BAMBOO circus show, are celebrating their incredible bamboo plant collection with a pilot Summer of Bamboo festival - featuring bamboo artworks created in Nuneaton and Stoke-on-Trent and performances of BAMBOO.
We've worked closely with communities in Nuneaton & Bedworth, culminating in a celebratory Imagine Bamboo event in Riversley Park.

An epic city-wide project across Liverpool, a bamboo arch swing at Keele Green Festival, and activities in Nuneaton & Bedworth.

We presented the first Imagine Bamboo Summit, a four-day event exploring bamboo, as part of the Birmingham 2022 Festival for the Commonwealth Games. The Taking Root programme taught us about growing bamboo, and we forged international relationships with a series of R&D workshops.
