Under The Bridge

Thursday 12, Friday 13 & Saturday 14 September 2019
12-6.30pm
Market Square, Grantham

Visit the Bridge during the daytime and enjoy a series of free events and experiences Under the Bridge. Pop by at any time; there will always be something going on.

Download the schedule here (please note that times may change) or check out the blackboard to see what's on. Look out in particular for:

An Experience in Two Parts: Pop on a pair of headphones and take part in a story about how the bridge came to be like this. Like every good story, there are two sides. The experience lasts for ten minutes, with multiple sessions throughout the day.

Bridge Stories podcast: Sit in front of the bridge, watch the world go by and listen to a 10 minute podcast collection of local people’s stories about bridge-building and bridge-burning. Collected in Coventry, Grantham and Worcester, the depth and breadth of these experiences has inspired the creation of Bridge.

Grantham Arts Trail – Making Art Accessible to All: Grantham's new Arts Trail makes art accessible to those who wouldn’t normally visit an exhibition space. Venues for this first Arts Trail include Grantham Museum and St Wulfram’s Church. Download the Arts Trail brochure.

Hidden Story Portraits – Bridging the Difference: Grantham photographer Emilie Nunn has taken a series of portraits of local people who are part of Bridge. She combines her images with text to tell their stories and show what unites a seemingly disparate group of people. Look for images in shop windows around Grantham.

On Saturday 14 September the bridge is host to several performances and demonstrations from Grantham and South Kesteven groups including Grantham Capoeria, the Harrowby Singers and DJ Hudouno. Get involved with craft activity during the day, and look out in particular for a special performance of Lean On Me performed in Makaton as part of the Bridge celebrations.
